The College Hockey Mid America conference has multiple teams in the ACHA National Tournament for the first time since 2015.
No. 13 Pitt received a bid based on ranking, the club's highest national rank in it's history. The Panthers will play No. 20 Navy, who won the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association and received that automatic bid, on Thursday, Mar. 10, 2022 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, MO at 11:15 a.m. (EST). The Midshipmen replaced No. 20 ranked Utah, who did not win the Western Collegiate Hockey League.
No. 19 seed John Carroll received a bid based on its CHMA Conference Championship victory - a 3-1 win over Pitt - on Feb. 20. Since the Blue Streaks were not already ranked, they replaced the No. 19 ranked team, Aquinas, who did not win their conference to receive an automatic bid. John Carroll will face off against No. 14 Maryville on Thursday, Mar. 10, 2022 at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, MO at 2:30 p.m. (EST).
